Summer is county fair season. July 20 is the anniversary of the Neil Armstrong taking "A small step for one man, a giant leap for mankind" as the first human to walk on the moon. Our neighbors at NASA Ames Research Center are critically involved in the Artemis mission which will land humans on the moon within the next few years.
- Drive a remote control model of the NASA VIPER rover (model build by the museum's STEM Clinic
- Get a close look at a real moon rock (on loan from NASA)
- Get an AI enhanced photo of your self on a space mission
- Participate in a long distance (paper airplane) flight competition
- See Interorbital Cube satellites
- See historic vehicles including a NASA Hazmat vehicle, an early prototype of the Lunar Rover built for the Apollo program. and a variety of large military vehicles
- Visit with members of the NorCal Mars Society (http://norcal.marssociety.org/). Learn about the Mars Desert Research Station and drive a remote control model of a NASA Mars Rover.
- Enjoy County Fair hot dogs and other snacks (Saturday only)
